“And my heart knows nothing’s free; You’ve got everything I needed, that’s why I’m loving you so much.”

I’m rather enjoying Motopony’s self-titled album, it’s just enough chill with some smart lyrics. The band melds together with a bluesy smooth sound and Daniel Blues’ voice is the exact right amount of sugary grit.

Also, his cover of Hallelujah with Hannalee is out of this world.

For my birthday we went to New Orleans for the day and enjoyed a few of the lesser known (at least to us) gems of the city. The Freret Street Market was our first stop, it featured a good assortment of delicious foods, crafts, dogs, and dancing children. Definitely a two-thumbs up kind of market.

We then “discovered” Dat Dog, which in case you didn’t know, was featured in that bastion of wisdom, the WSJ. I was, of course, thrilled to make such a visceral connection to the much quoted Journal. I mean, does it get any more connected than cheese fries and a hotdog?

Needless to say, we’ll be back.

…perhaps I just ignored who you were always gonna be, instead of who I took you for. I’ve been treated worse, it’s true, but still I expected more.”

Leave it to Josh Ritter to write a classy break-up song.

Little by little the look of the country changes because of the men we admire. You’re just going to have to make up your own mind one day about what’s right and wrong.
